As a first time mom I knew breastfeeding would be hard but I never expected it to be as hard as it was. While in the hospital, the lactation nurse helped me get my baby to latch however I was bleeding after her first feeding. The day we brought her home from the hospital I started pumping and giving her a bottle. The next day I went to another lactation specialist, she was able to get her to latch but then left. I was never able to get her to latch on my own. I headed back to the hospital. The lactation nurse there tried for an hour to get her to latch and she never did. I thought I was going to be pumping and bottle feeding. After a week in tears I found Stephanie's number. I called her and left her a message in tears. She called back immediately and was able to come see me that same week. It was great having someone come into my home and help me feel comfortable where I would be feeding her, not in a doctor’s office. She was great, all my concerns were put to rest and I felt so much better. Now my baby is breastfeeding exclusively except for when daddy gives her a bottle. I still call Stephanie with questions and she is always more than happy to help.
